52/2008 · 39/2024

Immovable Property Acquisition and Long-Term Lease (Foreigners) Law

Acquisition or long-term lease of immovable property by persons and entities who are not TRNC citizens requires Council of Ministers permission. The Law was amended in 2024, and in 2026 decrees having the force of law (63/2026 and 89/2026 of 7 August 2026) reset the number and size limits of property that may be acquired and the deadlines for registration and transfer. Because the limits change often, check the current text before any transaction.
